Maggie Xiong — Piano Instructor

Maggie Xiong is a classically trained pianist, distinguished piano pedagogue, and musicologist with over a decade of extensive international teaching and performance experience across Canada, Australia, and China. As an ORMTA Certified Teacher, she upholds the highest professional standards in piano pedagogy and is deeply committed to excellence in music education.

She holds dual Master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Adelaide (Australia), graduating with First Class Honours. Her graduate studies integrated advanced performance practice, pedagogical theory, and research-based methodology. During this time, she was selected to present solo recitals at the prestigious Elder Hall in both 2014 and 2015—one of Australia’s most distinguished concert venues.

As a concert pianist, Maggie has performed extensively in both solo and collaborative settings, demonstrating versatility across a broad and demanding repertoire. She was invited as an opening guest artist at the Golden Sunflower Piano Competition, sharing the stage at the same event with internationally renowned pianist Yundi Li, who appeared as a featured guest artist. This engagement reflects recognition at a high professional level.

Her artistic and academic excellence has been recognized through numerous distinctions, including First Prize in the 7th National Campus Talent Competition (University Division), China. In addition to her performance career, she is an active contributor to the field of music research. Her scholarly article, “Practical Techniques in Piano Performance,” was published in the respected professional journal Music World (Yin Yue Tian Di), demonstrating a strong integration of performance insight and pedagogical expertise.

With over ten years of professional teaching experience, Maggie has successfully prepared students for major international examination systems, including RCM (Canada), AMEB (Australia), and CVA (China). Her students consistently achieve outstanding results. Her teaching methodology emphasizes the development of efficient and healthy technique, deep musical understanding, stylistic awareness, and confident artistic expression. She is particularly skilled in cultivating long-term musicianship, enabling students not only to excel in examinations but also to develop lasting artistic sensitivity and independence.

Maggie is widely recognized for her refined musicianship, meticulous attention to detail, and highly structured yet adaptive teaching approach. She has a strong ability to diagnose technical and musical challenges with precision, guiding students toward meaningful, focused, and sustainable artistic growth.

Qiuting Chen— Lyric Soprano

Qiuting Chen is an international lyric soprano specializing in bel canto and classical operatic repertoire. With an extensive background in performance and pedagogy across Europe and Asia, she is recognized for her warm lyrical timbre, stylistic refinement, and elegant stage presence.

Qiuting is currently completing the Artistic Training Programme at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, studying under the esteemed Prof. Dr. Hab. Ewa Iżykowska-Lipińska. She holds a Master of Vocal Music (Opera) and a Bachelor of Vocal Music from the Conservatorio di Bari "Niccolò Piccinni" in Italy, where she developed her deep expertise in the Italian operatic tradition.

An acclaimed performer and competitor, Qiuting has won numerous prestigious awards on the international stage. Her recent achievements include First Prize at the Vivaldi International Music Competition, the Gold Prize at the Max Bruch International Music Competition, and First Prize at the Bach International Music Competition. She has performed in gala concerts and masterclasses across Europe, including the Monte San Savino Festival and the Chopin–Górecki International Masterclass.

In addition to her performance career, Qiuting has a strong background in academia and musicology. She served as a full-time Lecturer in Vocal Music at the Sichuan Institute of Industrial Technology from 2021 to 2023. Her scholarly contributions include published research on "Castrati and Cross-Gender Performance" and "Pre-Romantic Elements in the Classical Period," demonstrating a profound intellectual engagement with her craft.
